The end of each episode features a white van swerving to avoid a pedestrian and crashing into a garden wall. ...。明万历年间，京城名妓杜十娘与进京应试的江南公子李甲相识。李甲得好友柳遇春帮忙，赎出十娘喜结百年之好。二人返乡经过瓜州，盐商孙富见十娘美貌，便约正为如何回家面对严父的李甲喝酒，劝其别为一青楼女子耽误前程。李甲愁苦无奈将十娘卖与孙富，十娘闻讯怒沉百宝箱，投江自尽。睡莲庵老尼救起十娘，留其带发修行。柳遇春高中后陪夫人至庵中还愿，与十娘相遇，携十娘回到苏州。李甲一路流浪到苏州，心中为十娘之死痛悔万分，不想巧遇柳遇春……。
