1946年5月25日上午9时,上海。七十三岁的富豪、民族资本家张龙亭乘着他的私人轿车刚刚驶出他的宅邸,便被上海警备司令部的一辆汽车迎面截住。来人亮出逮捕证,当着张龙亭两个儿子的面带走了他。张龙亭的家人事后才知:老爷是被绑架了。这桩绑架案的策划者是无锡前进指挥部的王锡忠。此人虽是个主任,但官职不大。吃喝玩乐乃人生美事,可又苦于没有钱财。在上海出差之际,王锡忠终日见张龙亭的汽车出出进进,好不威风,便动了邪念。无奈势单力薄,只得求其叔——当年拉山头,大小是个司令的黄阿昌帮忙。这老头儿一辈子都在梦想。The film is based loosely around events in December 1995 that culminated in the murders of three drug dealers in Rettendon, Essex, UK. On 6th December Patrick Tate, Craig Rolfe and Tony Tucker, three drug dealers well known to the police, were lured to Workhouse Lane, Rettendon.
