晚清同治年间，康家主人周若兰以河洛镇康家店起家，几经曲折，终于使康家店成为河洛一带赫赫有名的行旅客栈。及至幼子康悔文长大成人，其秉承“留余”古训，由农而商，以商养农，商农一体，最终形成了“头枕泾阳西安，脚踏临沂济南；马跑千里不吃别家草，人行千里尽是康家田”的盛世伟业。当是此际，外族入侵，国运颓败，中华大地风雨如晦，黄河泛滥，致使中原赤地千里，康家为解黎民倒悬之苦，不惜倾家荡产，散财百万，疏浚河运，救助灾民。为了给中华民族寻找出路，康家后人更是毅然远赴重洋，为多难中华寻找济世良方……。The plot introduces us to a psychologist who suggests to three couples that they engage in a group session, where they will have to analyse each other without her being present.
