1910年哈尔滨爆发了一场百年不遇的鼠疫。这个城市无法再恢复原来的繁荣面貌了，从发病起，每天死的人从1个发展到180个，整个城市恐慌了。伍连德抵达哈尔滨后也被灾情的严重所震惊，经过3个月的调查研究，伍连德确认了病情的性质——肺鼠疫。于是他命所有人都要戴口罩，隔离病人。最后冒生命危险果断采取措施——焚烧尸体，从而彻底切断了传染源，一场大瘟疫被彻底消灭。。某一天，都市中突然出现了无数诡异扭曲的怪物，这些怪物会用会在晚上攻击或者扭曲影响普通人的心智，让他们变得类魔化。人们将这些突然出现且难以名状的怪物，称之为“恐怖” 为了应对“恐怖”的攻击，一帮拥有异能强者与之展开厮杀，这些人被称之为守夜人！。Using archival footage and dramatic re-enactments, this documentary deals with the immediate aftermath of the 1918 armistice that brought World War I to an end.
