The storyline is inspired by t...。王公世铎对玝爷恨之入骨，其子闹市奔马，拖死行人。奕玝出头，导致其子死在狱中。适逢宫中选秀，在慈禧的干涉下，光绪娶其侄女为皇后。大婚将至，内宫却突着大火，烧毁太和门。世铎将此事责任全推给奕玝爷，并诬其偷走宫中文房四宝；幸好光绪为其开脱。大婚之际，奕玝爷找来工匠糊了个纸太和门，算蒙混过关；可文房四宝就没法交差，玝爷只好以宅充抵。 奕玝爷趁此搬往南城小院，这样离心仪艺人朱帘秀近了。在南城，玝爷先与地痞花蝴蝶结仇，后又教王五耍大刀。通过小姨淑美，玝爷认识了具有维新思想的文海澄，推荐给光绪，深为赏识并委以重任。在淑美的捉弄下，玝爷竟闹出了与朱帘秀“私奔未遂”的闹剧。碍于面子，玝爷只身到通州，却掉入了世铎设下的陷阱中，被诬成劫镖之人，拉赴刑场问斩。最终玝爷无罪释放，海澄因此丢了官职。急于报国的奕玝爷目睹慈禧凌驾于光绪之上，发誓要助皇帝亲政。光绪命玝爷送字画给南方的康梁，虽有世铎破坏，终不辱使命。玝爷终于查到朱帘秀父亲之死是因他知慈禧并非旗人身份，玝爷以此逼慈禧支持光绪亲政，慈禧只好答应。维新革命党进京，开始变法维新；最终慈禧发动了政变，变法失败。海澄却因救玝爷将一腔热血撒向了大地。。In Uruguay, they don't say cheese in front of the camera - they say whisky.
