为响应九七香港主权回归而特别制作的长篇写实剧集《97变色龙》，全面揭示香港人回归前的心里变化，突显出现代人为求名利，不惜牺牲人性、出卖至亲等种种劣行。 故事由一宗轰动全城的争产事件掀开序幕，粤剧红伶靓少冯德昌（罗家宝）的年轻妻子蓝碧梅（谢雪心）与情夫何铭希（刘永）的阴谋夺去昌的产业，昌虽及时得悉，欲挽回之际却已慢了一步，昌人财两失，心脏病发，危在旦夕……。三对现代夫妇试图兼顾感情生活和高要求的职业，同时摸索为人父母之道。Martin Ellingham, a London-based surgeon, relocates to the picturesque seaside village of Port Wenn, establishing himself as the area's general practitioner.
