To make matters worse, the boat’s engine fails and then it turns out they ...。美丽纯洁的川浪良子（山口百惠 饰）是从北海道来至东京谋生的芭蕾舞演员，但为了照顾年迈多病的母亲，她不得不放弃钟爱的芭蕾，转而在一家低级夜总会跳舞赚钱。某个夜晚，她邂逅同样来自老家的年轻男子北村明夫（三浦友和 饰）。两个在大都会闯荡且满身伤痕的人儿惺惺相惜，于是相约次日一同离开东京，回到北海道展开新的生活。此前明夫曾被黑心商人江藤（高橋昌也 饰）赖掉1000万日元款项，他偷偷潜入江藤的办公室把钱偷回。在良子的劝说下，明夫决定将钱送回，以清白之身离开东京。然而，两人却因此卷入一起杀人事件之中…… 本片根据William Irish的原作改编，为“红色系列”的最后一部（共10部），也是山口百惠告别舞台的纪念之作。。
