剧以西周初年为故事背景，讲述了刁蛮俏厨娘妲喜（白鹿饰）在进宫后阴错阳差与大王姬满（张逸杰饰）进行了灵魂互换继而发生的一系列啼笑皆非的故事。。《爱在摇滚的岁月》根据真人真事改编，讲的是十几年前在北京音乐圈打拼多年的“地平线乐队”终于要举办演唱会了，但在演唱会当天，乐队成员在乘车去演唱会现场的路上发生了车祸，演唱会因此取消。在之后的日子里，乐队成员各奔前程，但办一个演唱会的梦想始终没有丢弃。一个偶然的机会，有人愿意赞助他们重组乐队，但就在他们凑够了开演唱会的钱时，赞助人却卷款消失了……。Genre cinema lends itself to fruitful experimentation and Vourdalak is a prime example, offering ample opportunities for it along with dark, profound chills and a delightful Gothic atmosphere.
