1927年广州415反革命政变后，中共地下党韩氏夫妇英勇牺牲，失散的三个孩子各自被普通百姓人家收养，老大进了药铺当学徒，老二成了厨师，老三是女儿，成了粤剧演员，他们在各自师父培养下，成长为行业的翘首，正当他们找到了杀害父母的仇人准备报仇时，抗战爆发，广州沦陷，三个人的命运也发生了巨大变化，老大与日本药商展开了长达七年的斗争，保卫中药药方不至于流失，最后在对抗日军细菌武器时献出生命。老二拒绝当汉奸，远走香港发扬粤菜，事业成功时又回到广州，跟哥哥一起拯救百姓。三妹率领戏班投身为抗战义演，同时继续精进粤剧艺术，在残酷的生活和美丽的剧中世界寻找平衡。直到抗战结束，三兄妹都坚持了民族气节，把各自的技艺发扬传承。。Ricardo is the chosen parent to take all the kids to a camp by train.
