The Hunt for Planet B follows a diverse group of scientists on a quest to find another Earth among the stars. From the hi-bays of NASA to the edge of the universe and the bottom of the sea, the film offers a way to see our own planet with new eyes。正值年轻气盛时,21岁的心理系学生莫莉某一日照常起床时，发现室友艾玛已经自杀，她发现一封遗书,遗书详细的记述了艾玛生前最后时刻。但当莫莉再次看到死后的艾玛异样的表情时,莫莉开始怀疑室友艾玛不是自杀，而是另有人所为。。根据一对父子的真实故事改编，他们在阿巴拉契亚小径的徒步旅行中修复了破裂的关系，寻找他们心爱的迷路狗。。
