电影讲述了一个名叫莉莉的女孩的故事。在她二十岁生日这天，她被奶奶告知自己将要继承一种神秘的家族技能。在继承仪式中，她意外的回到了18世纪的日本。在那里，她来到一个被恶毒艺妓威胁着的小村。因为喜欢上了村中的一个小伙，莉莉决定保护村子。而她唯一的武器，是一把剑，和只有露出胸才能能施展的杀人术。。故事讲述私家侦探哈柏应聘至纽奥尔良一大地主家庭调查一封告密信，由于牵涉入大地主与石油大王之间的斗争中，几乎因而丧命。该片拍来有点造作，但节奏仍算流畅爽朗，其中哈柏与石油大王之妻被关在水室而几乎没顶的高潮戏拍得相当紧凑刺激。。Karl Hochman, a technician in a computer shop, is also "The Address-Book Killer", who obtains the names of his victims from stolen address-books.
