以曾侯乙编钟为故事来源，以战国时代列国争霸为背景，讲述了曾国国君曾侯乙目睹天下混乱、礼乐崩坏而重铸64件编钟，再现“凤舞”之曲的理想主义奋斗过程。全片通过曾侯乙及楚王、楚国公主云珠、曾国女乐官棠玉对编钟和“凤舞”之曲不同的追求与寄托，以及由此而引发的礼乐与霸道的冲突、权谋和爱情的矛盾，架构出一曲合理合史的古代音乐与政治、生活的凄美传奇。。本剧是同内核、同基础设定的电影IP重塑剧集，不是对1987年原电影的直接翻拍。 剧本根据Alexandra Cunningham和Kevin J.
