该剧根据爱奇艺小说原创签约作家闲谭落花的《经常找我麻烦的男神》改编，讲述了高冷推理小说作家霍云涯因创作陷入瓶颈，遇到超级打工人聂柔珠，从此两人开启了一段麻烦不断但甜蜜爆笑的恋爱的故事。匈牙利音乐指挥家佐尔坦受到邀请去欧洲欧罗巴歌剧院指挥一场重要的歌剧演出，他到达巴黎后见到了歌剧的主演瑞典女歌星卡琳，开始他并不喜欢她，但不久后他们一起堕入了情网。佐尔坦的妻子知道了他们的暧昧关系后，威胁要把他赶出家门，虽然卡琳想努力结束他们之间的关系，但佐尔坦依然对她非常迷恋。在歌剧即将公演时，发生了一系列灾难事件……。The goal with CLOWNADO is to make a damned good, scary and splatter-filled, nonstop roller coaster ride of a Horror movie.
